EXPANSION means that the Pavilion Playgroup in St Ives can now offer even more activities for the children.

The Pavilion Playgroup has been established for 27 years and has recently attained a high level accreditation from the Pre-School Learning alliance - an investors in children quality assurance scheme.

The recent expansion on the Thorndown Infant and Primary school site has also benefited the Thorndown Kids Club, the out-of- School club that looks after four-to-11-year-olds, finally giving them a permanent home.

Kris White from Thorndown Kids Club said: "We are really glad to have a close relationship with Pavillion Playgroup. We are delighted that we have a permanent home and would like to express gratitude to the Care and Education department, without whom the building would not be ready to use. Their kind donation has ensured the future of Thorndown Kids Club.

"As well as offering care before and after school, we will also be able to open during school holidays.
