A man has been charged in connection with the death of two men, after a collision on the B1091 in Yaxley earlier this week.

Richard Frost, 38, of Dorset Avenue in Chelmsford, Essex, was arrested by police on Tuesday night (January 3) after he fled the crash site on foot.

He was found in his hometown – more than 70 miles from the incident – before being transferred to Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough the next evening.

The victims, Thomas Fletcher, 19, and Thomas Northam, 22, both from Yaxley, were killed when they collided with a BMW Mr Frost had been driving.

Since then, he has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of dangerous driving, one count of causing actual bodily harm, and one count of common assault.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court later today.

Post mortem examinations of the two men are due to carried out on Monday afternoon.
