Ernulf and Longsands Academy students take part in 150 day Olympic celebrations

YOUNGSTERS in St Neots marked 150 days until the start of the London Olympic Games by holding their own sports competition.

Year 8 pupils from Longsands Academy and Ernulf Academy joined together in teams of ten for the day-long series of activities.

Each team played 150 minutes of sport, which included half-an-hour of basketball, uni-hock, netball and handball. Girls took part in the afternoon session and boys in the morning.

Longsands Academy PE teacher Sebastian Hood, who helped to organise the day, said: “It was fantastic. It was really successful. We are going to hold a whole school event to mark 100 days before the Olympics.”
