This years queen and royal court will be invited to ride in a horse-drawn carriage as the carnival proceeds through the streets of Huntingdon and into Riverside Park. The event returns on August 12-13 this year and will once again feature a packed schedule of fun and festivities, including a parade, live music, stalls, and plenty of games. Councillor Bill Hensley, who re-launched the event while serving as mayor of Huntingdon, is appealing for community groups, volunteers, clubs, bands, and residents to come forward and support this years carnival. In particular, Cllr Hensley is looking for groups to run stalls and enter the parade, and bands to perform on the festival stage. There is still time to enter the competition to be a carnival queen, prince or princess, which is being judged on July 22, and nomination forms are available in local schools.
