ACE Friends of St Ives Corn Exchanges annual festival returns on Saturday, May 9, and to spark childrens interests a competition has been set up to design a cover for the story Mick the Skip Goes on an Adventure. The competition is split into five year groups: Reception, Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4, Years 5 and 6 and Years 7 and above, with three prizes for each category, with book tokens worth £40, £25 and £10 up for grabs. Book Jam is backed by The Hunts Post and Mick George and supported by Heffers of Cambridge and Cambridgeshire Libraries. There is a host of free workshops for children to learn from authors and illustrators, author signing sessions, books for sale, a soft play area for younger children enjoying their first books and appearances by book characters.
