Employees from Steinhoff Ltd in Huntingdon – makers of Myers, Slumberland and Staples beds – showed just how they get a kick out of raising money for charity.
They clubbed together to stage a charity England v Poland football match representing the nationalities at the firm, raising more than £500 for the Woodlands Cancer Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
Marketing manager Kasia Czura said: “The idea for the football match came from the shop floor. Cancer is an illness that touches all our lives and they wanted to support Woodlands and the centre’s plans.”
The match was held at St Peter’s School sports hall and Steinhoff has also donated a full Slumberland bed set worth more than £600 to Woodlands – watch this space for details about how it could be won.
And in case you are wondering who won the match ... it was England.
