It said power was restored to 232 customers at 1.30pm today after the most recent power cut.

One customer complained about losing their supply four times in two days and a temporary generator was said to have failed.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “UK Power Networks engineers are working to restore power to customers in the Alder Drive, Ambury Road and Ambury Hill areas of Huntingdon following a fault on an underground cable.

“Supplies were reconnected via a generator and we apologised to customers who have experienced further power interruptions during this temporary arrangement.”

The spokesman added: “We are installing a new generator while work continues to excavate and repair the fault to ensure reliable electricity supplies.”
