An elderly woman was knocked over by a van in Hilton yesterday (Wednesday).

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 89-year-old was crossing the road near the Post Office in Potton Road at about 12.20pm when a white Citroen Berlingo reversed into her.

The driver of the van had been into the Post Office just before and officers believe he may not be aware of the collision.

The woman did not suffer serious injuries but was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon.

Police are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward and would particularly like to contact the driver of the van.

INFORMATION: Contact PC Paul Gale on 101.
