An elderly cyclist who died following a fatal collision in Gamlingay yesterday (Tuesday) morning has been named as Ronald Bousted.
The 74-year-old, of Aldgate Close, Potton in Bedfordshire, was cycling along Heath Road near its junction with Everton Road when the incident happened just before 6am.
Police believe a small white Vauxhall van was overtaking another car when it collided with Mr Bousted who was riding in the opposite direction.
The driver, a 41-year-old man from Sandy, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed to return to Parkside Police Station in Cambridge on January 29.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the road policing unit on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
