The Easter bunny dropped off sweet treats to children at Hinchingbrooke Hospital’s Holly Ward on Friday.

Some 25 Easter eggs were donated by businesses from across Huntingdonshire and were delivered to the children’s ward to help lift spirits over the Easter holidays.

The Easter treats were presented to staff by Hunts Post staff members, Alex Valentine and Katie Ridley, following the Hunts Post’s Easter Bonanza appeal.

Natalie Matthews, playleader at the hospital, said: “The eggs just give the children something to look forward to. Sometimes it can be really hard for the children to be in here, especially over the Easter holidays, so this will really put a smile on their faces.

“We also have a lot of babies, so we give the eggs to their siblings that might be struggling as their family are in and out of hospital. This donation really goes a long way in the children’s eyes.”
