A Cambridgeshire pair who committed a serious assault by hitting their victim with a beer bottle before stamping on his head have been jailed.

Ricky Klemis, of Saunders Close, in Huntingdon, and Jason Cairns, of Collingwood Avenue, March, were sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court, on Friday, after the pair were found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following a four-day trial.

In October 2015, Klemis, 30, and Cairns, 38, broke into a flat in Hussars Court, March, where the victim was staying. The pair attacked him by punching, kicking and hitting him with a weapon.

The victim, then aged 32, managed to escape but the pair followed him and continued the attack by hitting him with a beer bottle and stamping on his head.

The assault only ended when a neighbour disturbed the attackers but the men made further threats towards the victim before they left.
