MOTORISTS are being warned of road closures in Alconbury while 8,000 of repair work takes place on the village bridge.
The road over Alconbury Bridge will be shut on Sunday, July 18, Sunday, July 25 and Sunday, August 1 to allow contractors to repair the parapets.
It will be closed between 9am and 5pm. Signed diversions will be in place, but drivers could still face some delays. The adjacent footbridge will remain open to pedestrians.
A statement issued by Cambridgeshire County Council said that severe frosts had damaged the brickwork and mortar on the parapets and the repairs were needed to stop further deterioration.
