A survey has been launched today (Monday) by Huntingdonshire District Council to understand what residents think the council does well and what it can improve. Earlier this year the council announced that it will carry out a fresh parking assessment after it abandoned a proposed increase in car parking charges last year. Councillor Jim White, executive member for operations, said: The council is undertaking a review of its parking service with the goal of developing an evidence-based parking strategy that can be used to guide the service and inform future parking projects across the district. In order to do this, we need to understand from our residents and visitors what they think works well in our car parks and what could be improved. I would encourage everyone who uses our car parks to take part and have their say.A report to council members in April this year, by head of operations Neil Sloper, highlighted the councils lack of evidence to account for any increase of fees following its proposal in October last year. Under the councils original plans, rates could have risen by 20p in short stay car parks and 30p for long stay parking. However, the proposal was dropped after receiving a number of negative responses from the public to a planned consultation. To have your say and complete the survey, go to https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/HDCCPark.
