Police are investigating a collision this morning involving four lorries that caused severe disruption on the A14.

Officers called to the scene have also reported that 15 motorists have been stopped for filming or taking pictures of the crash site using mobile phones and are due to be prosecuted.

The incident on the westbound carriageway between Histon and Girton was reported at about 5.45am.

The drivers of two of the lorries suffered minor injuries and one of the vehicles was carrying seven-and-a-half tonnes of teddy bears.

The westbound carriageway is closed and is expected to remain so for some time. One lane was reopened to allow traffic stuck at the scene to get through.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them on 101.
