A MAN was taken to hospital after an early-hours road accident near Alconbury.
Fire crews from Huntingdon and Sawtry, and a rescue vehicle from Huntingdon were called to the collision, which happened on the A1 northbound between Alconbury and Brampton Hut at about 2.25am.
Crews arrived to find that a lorry had collided with the central reservation and hit a lamp post.
Crews used specialist cutting equipment to release one person from the vehicle, and ambulance crews took the man, who was in his 30s, to Peterborough City Hospital.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “A man who we believe to be in his 30s was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with slight injuries.”
