Tails were wagging at Wood Green Animal Rescue as a host of food and toys were donated to the shelter.

The new Aldi store, in Edison Bell Way, Huntingdon, donated a range of products to some of the dogs and cats housed at the centre, in Godmanchester.

John Greaves, Aldi area manager, said: “It’s great to see what a positive impact the new store has had on the local area so far, and we are pleased to support groups such as Wood Green Animal Rescue, as they play such a vital role in the community. We look forward to supporting the community in any way we can over the coming years.”

Within the donations, which were handed over late last month, staff had also included mince pies for Wood Green’s hardworking team.
