The Norris Museum in St Ives is calling on residents to donate paint supplies for a decorative mural outside the building while renovations get underway.
The museum is teaming up with St Ivo School for the project, as well as professional artist Syrah Arnold.
“We’re really excited to be working with pupils from St Ivo Secondary School and artist, Syrah Arnold on this project,” said Hannah Vandridge, learning and outreach officer at the museum.
“The mural, which will decorate the hoardings around the museum whilst it is closed, will be kept by the museum after it reopens and form part of the very first temporary exhibition in the newly renovated space.
“We also plan to involve the wider community in the project too, so keep a look out for upcoming workshops.”
Members of the public will be able to help paint the mural too, but session dates are yet to be confirmed.
Masonry and household paint, brushes, containers with lids, and varnish are all needed and can be left at St Ives Town Hall marked for Hannah’s attention.
Donations must be handed in before June 17. To find out more, call 01480 497 314.
