An Eaton Socon flat was set on fire on Wednesday afternoon.
One crew from St Neots, one from Gamlingay and one from Huntingdon were called to a second-floor flat in Viscount Court, Eaton Socon at 3.14pm.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the flames and fans were used to clear the smoke.
Crews returned to their stations by 4.55pm.
Paul Clarke, station commander at CFRS, said: “We were called to this fire as a result of a neighbour hearing the smoke detector sounding. This is a timely reminder to ask residents to make sure they have a correctly fitted, working smoke alarm on each floor of their property.”
