High winds brought a tree crashing down into the road in Great Stukeley last night (Wednesday).
The tree is believed to have come down at about 5pm and blocked both carriageways of Ermine Street, at its junction with Green End.
Cars were forced to drive onto a nearby grass verge to get around the tree, before officials from the county highways service were made aware and arrived at the scene to begin clearing the tree.
The road was re-opened by about 7.30pm.
There are no reports of any injuries as a result of the tree falling into the road.
