A decision, which could see the cost of parking in St Neots almost tripled, has been deferred.
Cambridgeshire County Council’s highways and community infrastructure committee met yesterday (Tuesday), where the proposals to increase on-street charges in the Market Square to 80p an hour – up from 30p – were discussed.
A CCC spokesman said: “The committee decided to defer a decision to make sure that there is full consultation with local members, the town council and the new Huntingdonshire District Council portfolio holder [Councillor Barry Chapman] and to have a look at the district council’s parking strategy.”
