Supermarket chain Lidl will have its plans to build a new store in Huntingdon scrutinised by a planning inspector next month.

The company's appeal will be heard at Huntingdonshire District Council's Pathfinder House HQ, in Huntingdon, starting at 10am on Tuesday, November 5. Lidl's has so far made three applications to build a supermarket and apartments for social housing on a site in Stukeley Road but each has been rejected by HDC.

In July HDC planners recommended the council's development management committee refuse planning permission again - one of the main reasons was because of the location, which is deemed to be out-of-town. HDC see the current Waitrose site as a valid option for Lidl.
