A DECISION is still to be made on whether or not to prosecute the Huntingdon man who put his pet cat in a tumble dryer.

A file is being prepared by the RSPCA inspector who investigated the case. This will then be reviewed by the animal protection charity's prosecutions department, which will decide whether or not to pursue the case further.

Princess's nightmare - in which she was spun in the tumble dryer three times - made national headlines after The Hunts Post broke the story earlier this month.

A horrified member of a web forum for radio-controlled car enthusiasts contacted us with shocking video footage taken by the cat's owner and posted onto the site.

Princess's owner subsequently handed her in to Wood Green, the Animals Charity, in Godmanchester, where she was renamed Fiesta. She has since been rehomed.

Hunts Post readers provided the RSPCA with the man's details and two people were interviewed by officers in connection with the case.
