Crews called to tackle waste fire at Kings Ripton

FIREFIGHTERS were called to Kings Ripton after agricultural waste was seen smouldering.

A crew from Huntingdon was called at 2am on Thursday (October 4) to a field off the B1090.

The waste, measuring approximately 20 metres by 20 metres, was smouldering and firefighters used a hose reel to dampen down the fire.

A crew returned to re-inspect the area later on Thursday morning.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
