The village lost its Post Office in April and a proposal, announced yesterday (Tuesday), is to restore a Post Office in the village by providing a mobile service on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4pm. To gain more meaningful feedback, the mobile service will be available from December 2 when a postmaster from Hemingford Grey Post Office will operate from a vehicle in the car park of Blades Motorcycles at The Highway. Post Office spokesman Wendy Hamilton said: We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Great Staughton. We are confident this new service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future. The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the proposal, which ends on January 23.
