The chairman, Angela Owen-Smith, welcomed members and visitors to the 16th annual meeting and read the minutes of the previous AGM, which were agreed and signed. The chairman, secretary, treasurer and committee were
re-elected to serve for 2006/7. The chairman then outlined the programme for the coming year before introducing the speaker for the evening, Brian Ogden, Huntingdon Tree Officer.
He told us about tree preservation orders, his role in new building developments, the impact on trees and the environment of major projects such as the guided bus and the Huntingdon contraflow, and about the tree planting scheme and tree nursery, answering questions throughout the presentation.
