CHARITY CHOIR: St Ives Community Choir raised £1,900 for Hearings Dogs at its Christmas concert.

The concert, which took place on December 21 at the town’s Free Church, raised £795 through ticket sales, a raffle and donations and £100 in merchandise sales. Barclays Bank matched the total ticket sales and the choir donated £300.

The choir is preparing for its next concert and is looking for new members to join in and sing out.

A spokesman said: “Our music director Katharine Burr has given us the confidence to sing many genres of song, from ballads to rock songs. We are currently practising for the next concert in June and would ask anyone who wants to join to just pop along on Monday evening at 7.30pm to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Needingworth Road, St. Ives. There are no auditions, you will find your own voice, so come and have fun with your singing.”
