Traders moved from their traditional home in Huntingdons Market Square to a new location along High Street earlier in the year, meaning the carnival procession will need to plot a different path.Member of the carnival committee, Ray Godby said: The committee were very disappointed that we could not use High Street as traditionally the carnival always used this route and it makes the event quite special and obviously brings trade to the shops. The parade, which has a theme of Thats Entertainment is now going to start from the Market Square and will parade up Princes Street to St Marys Street, then along Hartford Road and the ring road, to finish in Hartford Road and into Riverside Park. This years carnival is taking place on August 11-12. Already organisers have lots lined up with a Spitfire flypast on both days, along with a Viking encampment, charity and community stalls and arena acts. There is still time to get in the procession and have a stall. Contact Mr Godby by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call HCR104fm on 01480 414104.
