The harvest at a farm in Great Staughton ground to a halt on Friday after a combine harvester caught fire.
Firefighters from St Neots and Bedfordhsire were called to Staughton Moor shortly after 1.30pm following reports that a combine harvester was ablaze.
The machine was badly damaged.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire by 3.15pm.
“The cause of the fire was accidental, by equipment.”
