The College of Animal Welfare threw open its doors on Saturday to showcase the variety of careers on offer to people interested in joining the profession.

The Godmanchester-based college welcomed more than 700 people to its annual Careers with Animals event, which has been running for more than 15 years.

As well as exhibitors from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Medivet, The Royal Veterinary College and Shepreth Wildlife Park, the event also saw a series of talks on a variety of subjects.

There were sessions on dog grooming, working with guide dogs, and volunteering abroad.

Alison German, marketing executive for the college, said: “We had about 300 registration forms completed and we think that there were more than 700 people who visited on the day, which was excellent.”
