Members of the Churches Together in Sawtry group have launched a new project in the village which aims to bring to life the stories told in the bible.

The project, called Open the Book, offers primary school children an opportunity to hear stories from the bible conveyed in the form of a short play, lasting about 10 minutes.

All costumes and props used in the plays are produced by the church volunteers.

The group perform once a fortnight during term time at Sawtry Junior School and encourage children to take part in the performance whenever possible.

The group is organised by All Saint’s Curate Imogen Falvey and includes parishioners from St Benedict’s Catholic Community, Sawtry Methodist Church and All Saint’s Parish Church.
