As a part of the pupils teaching Murray gave an entertaining performance to the entire year group, telling them about the many books hes written, where he gets his ideas from and how he creates his terrifying characters. Library assistant Lisa Bond said: By bringing his book characters to life, reading some exciting extracts and genuinely leaving us all on the edge of our seats, Peters books soon flew off the library shelves. The author also led a workshop in the afternoon for dozens of lucky children who were taught how to write some terrifying tales, which engaged the students and inspired them to write their own. Murray and his wife returned the following day for a book signing in St Peters School Library, which was another great success. Ms Bond added: We were overwhelmed by the amount of students who came back to speak to Peter and buy a book; it seems he has truly inspired our students to read, which is fantastic as we are always trying to promote reading for pleasure in the library.
