A DAY of fun and live music to raise awareness of Tourette’s syndrome last weekend had to be cancelled because of the weather – but organisers have thanked the brave few who attended.
TicTastic Afternoon with Matt Harvey, scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Huntingdon Town Park, was a wash-out, with rain soaking the bouncy castle and making the display area unsafe for the planned boxing and karate demonstrations.
Organiser Faye Linnell said: “I felt humbled by the amount of support I did have yesterday and really want to thank all those that did arrive, help set up and show their support for me.
“Unfortunately just as TicTastic Afternoon was up and ready to go, the rain started. Before long the bouncy castles were unsafe to use and the display area far too slippery for our displays to take place. The decision was made to postpone the day and re-arrange at an indoor venue.”
Mrs Linnell, who worked with Allan’s Promotions to arrange the day, was inspired by the experiences of her nephew who suffers with the condition, to raise money and awareness for Tourette’s Action.
She said that “TicTastic Take Two” was already being planned.
