An annual charity ball has raised thousands of pounds for Macmillan’s Woodlands Centre appeal.
The Broughton Ball committee held their annual event at the Crown Inn on May 30, with a three-course meal, entertainment, and a live auction taking place.
More than 150 people attended the event, with tickets to attend the Secret Garden Party music festival among the star prizes on offer.
This week, the committee presented a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support for £2,000 towards the Woodlands Macmillan Centre appeal at Hinchingbrooke hospital.
A spokesman for Macmillan said: “£1,900 may pay for the design of a general store at Macmillan’s Woodlands Centre. This will make sure that staff can quickly collect the equipment they need, helping to reduce waiting times for patients.”
