FIREFIGHTERS have said there is no evidence to suggest arsonists were to blame for a blaze which devastated a derelict building.
One crew from St Ives and a crew from Sutton were called to smoke coming from the gravel pits in Holme Fen Drove, Colne.
Firefighters discovered the building - measuring about five metres by three metres - was on fire and used two jets to put out the flames.
They returned to their fire station by 12.10am.
A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said the cause of the fire was unknown, and that the matter would not be passed to the police.
