The cast of West End production Stomp took some time out of their busy schedule to provide a workshop for students at Sawtry Village Academy.

For the past 25 years, Stomp has been bringing audiences to life with its unique blend of comedy, dance and rhythm by using everyday objects to get toes tapping.

On October 24, members of the cast came to Sawtry Village Academy to provide an educational workshop for students incorporating the subjects of music, movement, numeracy and physical education to provide a valuable learning experience.

Throughout the day, the cast put on a number of workshops which were well attended by members of Year 7 as well as those studying drama further up in the school and members of the new after-school drama group, SVA Encore. The academy also invited Year 6 pupils from Sawtry Junior School and Alconbury Primary School to join in the fun.

Hannah Hughes, music teacher at Sawtry Village Academy, said: “The day was a roaring success and I cannot thank Stomp enough for the workshops they provided. It was a truly enjoyable day and certainly one the students will not forget any time soon – we were delighted to be able to welcome students from our neighbouring primary schools too.”
