Burglars posing as council workers targeted a house in Little Paxton.

The incident took place between 3-5pm on June 30, with the burglars targeting an elderly resident in Little Paxton Lane.

Detective Constable Adam McCluskey said: “An unknown offender has spoken to the elderly victim at the front door of the property and told them he was from the council. “He has said that a water main had burst in the village and they required the victim to fill up numerous containers with water. The victim has allowed the suspect through into the kitchen, and whilst filling numerous containers with water, a second suspect has entered the property, made their way upstairs and stolen cash from the bedrooms.” Dc McCluskey added that the men made off in a dark coloured vehicle, which is believed to be a black Audi A3.
