Caring Daisy mixes with royalty after winning crown
SIX-YEAR-OLD Daisy Moore met Prince Harry at a glamorous awards ceremony where she was crowned the UK’s most caring child.
Daisy, of Offord Cluny, received several nominations in the category of Most Caring Child, including one from her mother Katie, for the way she has helped in caring for Molly over the past two years.
Two years ago Molly, eight, suffered a brain haemorrhage and a stroke which left her unable to speak or swallow. She cannot move most of her body and uses a wheelchair.
Since then, Daisy has cared for her sister, drawing her pictures, singing her songs, arranging for friends to visit and making sure Molly gets her medication on time.
Mrs Moore, 39, said: “She’s always been there to help, to look after Molly and to make sure she has everything she needs. She’s always looking out for her sister.”
Molly also nominated Daisy for the award, calling her “my best friend” and thanking her for always looking after her.
Mrs Moore said both girls had enjoyed meeting Prince Harry, a patron of WellChild, at the ceremony in London’s Park Lane.

“Daisy was very chatty before he arrived, but then she got a little shy. She had time to talk to him afterwards, when she asked him if he would take her to the top floor of the hotel to look at the view.
“He was very relaxed and very natural with Molly and Daisy, just like a big brother.”
The prince said in a speech that meeting the winners had been “humbling”.
“I feel in awe of individuals with such determination, resolve and strength to take on the challenges they face from such a young age,” he said.
