Dozens of elderly people have shared their pearls of wisdom for an art installation that bought joy to those at a care network’s annual meeting.
On display at Huntingdon town hall last week Cambridgeshire Care Network’s Tree of Wisdom took centre stage.
Chief officer Ruth McCallum said: “We started off doing this because it was our pearl anniversary and then we started talking about pearls of wisdom and what else we could do to make our AGM a bit more than our usual.”
The installation was made by artist Sarah Steenhorst who worked with both young and old to share secrets to a happy life.
She said: “The tree has been really well received. Essentially it was a nice way for the older generation to give advice to the future generation.”
Those involved were users of the care network along with residents from Glatton Hall Care Home and youngsters from schools in the area.
Along with the wisdom tree, care network users also made songs and one even designed a pillow based around a ring that has become a family heirloom.
