Residents at a St Neots care home were able to test out a Magic Table aimed at encouraging physical and social activity for people living with dementia and severe leaning disabilities.
The Tovertafel, which means magic table in Dutch, is an interactive light projection system, that produces images and games that allow the user to touch and move the animations.
The cutting-edge technology was brought to the UK by a company called Shift 8, founded by John Ramsay and Mehdi Bedioui.
Residents and staff at the Nelson Lodge care home were given a demonstration of the Magic Table last week, and are hoping to buy a machine once they have secured funding.
“We found that it worked really well with our residents, some of whom are not normally able to concentrate on one thing for long,” said Cliona Pritchard from the home.
