POLICE are trying to trace a car that was seen near a St Neots home where jewellery was stolen.

POLICE are trying to trace a car that was seen near a St Neots home where jewellery was stolen.

The vehicle, a grey Volkswagen Golf, was seen at about 11.40am last Thursday (August 11) near to the house in Cambridge Gardens.

The home was burgled between 10am and 5.30pm the same day, with items of jewellery including bracelets, watches and earrings stolen.

Police were tipped off after a witness saw the car and left a note for the homeowners. Two men were also seen acting suspiciously in the area.

Pc Kelly Manchett, investigating, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw this vehicle in the area at the time, or has any information about this burglary.

“In particular I would like to speak to the person who spotted the vehicle and posted a note to the victim. They may have vital information to assist our investigation.”
