A MYSTERIOUS Valentine’s Day marriage proposal has appeared in a St Neots shop window – and shop staff have turned to Hunts Post readers to help ensure a happy ever after.
Armed with just a few key clues – including the name of the groom-to-be – we hope our readers can help uncover the loved-up pair and that all-important answer.
The message, seen right, appeared in the window of the British Heart Foundation in St Neots High Street last Wednesday, and is addressed to a Rory McKay.
The message promises that “your mum said you can”, but is signed off cryptically with a question mark.
Since then, staff have been trying to piece together the details of the proposal and track down the bride-to-be.
Assistant manager Kim Hammond said: “After speaking to staff who were working last week, we think it was a young woman who came in with her mum.

The message is part of a Valentine’s Day display that has been in the shop window for over a week, but Ms Hammond said staff are stumped as to why the mystery woman chose their shop window.
“We don’t know why she picked the British Heart Foundation – there must be a reason, and we’d like to find out,” she said.
Store manager Ursula Harradine contacted The Hunts Post after customers began to comment on the message in the charity shop’s display.
She said: “We don’t know who it is – customers just pay a pound for the love heart and place the message in the window themselves, so we didn’t see it immediately.
“Lots of customers have been commenting on it, and we’ve not been able to pin the couple down yet. We just hope that we get an answer!”
