CCTV footage captured by the security cameras at St Neots Fencing Company show two people pull up outside the premises, in Levellers Lane, at about 8.25pm before smashing their way in through the glass front door. The duo kick through a number of secured doors before stealing two chainsaws, two disc cutters, a hedge trimmer and a cash tin, before leaving little more than five minutes later. In all, the company believes the thieves made off with more than £2,000 worth of equipment, whilst causing more than £1,000 worth of damage to the premises. Employee Louis Crowe said: It is a real inconvenience because we now have to go through the insurance process and deal with replacing all the security. We are looking at bringing in some stronger doors but realistically, I dont think there is anything we can do that is going to stop someone from getting in if they want to, its just a case of slowing them down. Mr Crowe said he had heard of several other raids on businesses in the St Neots area in recent months and said he hoped putting out the CCTV images would help catch the culprits. A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said that the vehicle seen leaving the scene is a silver Toyota, either a Corolla or Avensis.Anyone with information about the incident should contact Cambridgeshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
