The carnival returns on August 12-13 this year and will once again feature a packed schedule of fun and festivities, including a parade, live music, stalls, and plenty of games. Councillor Bill Hensley, who re-launched the event while serving as mayor of Huntingdon, is appealing for community groups, volunteers, clubs, bands, and residents to come forward and support this years carnival. In particular, Cllr Hensley is looking for groups to run stalls and enter the parade, bands to perform on the festival stage, and youngsters to put themselves forward to be carnival princes and princesses. He said: We had somewhere between four and five thousands people attend across the weekend last year and were hoping to be just as well supported again this year. Wed like to hear from people who can volunteer to help at the event, as well as local bands, community groups, and clubs, who want to be involved. Anyone interested in taking part in this years carnival should contact Sylvia and John Gawthorp on 01480 350861.
