Huntingdonshire’s branch of the Campaign for Real Ale is set to hold its 50th Booze on the Ouse beer and cider festival at the Priory Centre in St Neots.
The festival, which features more than 70 real ales, runs from March 15-17.
This year CAMRA is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the event which is held twice a year, split between the spring festival at the Priory Centre and the autumn gathering at the Burgess Hall, St Ives.
Paul Moorhouse, real ale bar manager, said: “Festival-goers can expect a great range of beers served in prime condition - a balanced range of real ale styles from across the UK regions but with a big emphasis on local brewers as usual.”
They include CAMRA’s newly-crowned Champion Winter Beer of Britain, a draught barley wine named Ripper Tripel, brewed by the Green Jack brewery in Lowestoft and Slate porter, brewed by Grain, which has just been named the region’s champion beer.
There will be draught milds, bitters, golden ales, stouts, porters, lagers, wheat beers and speciality beers, real draught ciders and perries, together with wine, soft drinks and food.
The festival, which is open from noon to 10.30pm on Thursday and Friday and noon-10pm on Saturday, will support the Huntingdon area Wildlife Trust group.
