Firefighters in Cambridgeshire are joining a national strike next week in a dispute over pensions.

Members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) will walk out at 7am on Wednesday, February 25, for 24 hours.

Deputy chief fire officer Chris Strickland said: “It’s disappointing for everyone that the industrial dispute continues however, as with previous strike periods, we will ensure arrangements are in place to provide fire and rescue cover across the authority area.

“While not as extensive as normal, we will aim to ensure the emergency services we provide are the best they can be in such challenging circumstances.”
