Cambs Fire Service: What is a Home Fire Safety Check?

This is a FREE service we offer to any resident in Cambridgeshire.

Firefighters or specially trained community safety officers will visit your home to help you identify and assess the risks of fire and advise you on the best practices to keep your home and family safe.

We will also fit the appropriate number and correct type of smoke alarms free of charge if these are required and secure them in the correct places.

This is all FREE - all you need to do if you wish to take advantage of this service is to contact us to arrange a date and time that is suitable for you.

To book your FREE home fire safety check fill out the online request form on the fire service website. Alternatively, you can ring 01480 444666 and leave a message with your name, address and daytime phone number.

We will then give you a call back to arrange a time when we can visit.

If you would rather not invite us to your home

Don't worry, if for any reason you would rather not have our specially-trained staff visit your home, you can risk-assess your home yourself quite easily.
