A GROUP of grateful mums is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the New Life Appeal with a follow up to last year’s extremely successful Black and White Ball.
A GROUP of grateful mums is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the Cambridgeshire hospital units that care for sick and premature babies.
Teresa Hicks, who helped arrange last year’s Black and White Ball in aid of The Hunts Post’s New Life Appeal, is working with fellow mums Linda Roberts and Jo Thompson to host the Diamond Ball in St Neots at the end of June.
Linda’s daughter Holly was born nine weeks early, while Jo’s son suffered a serious bowel condition. Teresa’s twins, Lily and Noah, spent one month in Hinchingbrooke Hosptial’s special care baby unit and her event last year raised 7,000, which was used to buy the unit five adjustable-height cots.

This year, the Diamond Ball will be held at St Neots Rugby Club in a venue supplied by Pidley-based company Evolution Domes. Guests, who will pay 40 for a ticket, will enjoy a three-course meal and entertainment. The money will be split between the special care baby units at Hinchingbrooke and Addenbrooke’s Hospitals. The evening will include live entertainment from Trevor Jones and Libby Holden, and a disco.
Teresa said: “We will also host a grand raffle and auction with some incredible prizes. Dews coaches are kindly providing return transport with stops in Ramsey, Warboys, St Ives and Huntingdon for just 10 per person, with all profits going to the charity.”
