FIREFIGHTERS from Huntingdonshire had a busy Saturday (June 30) as they were called to a series of incidents around the district.

Two people were led to safety by firefighters after their car left the A14 in the early hours of Saturday (June 30).

Fire crews from Huntingdon and Kimbolton were called to the A14 eastbound between junctions 18, at Spaldwick, and 17, shortly before 12.30am.

Two people weren't trapped in the car, but needed assistance getting back to the road where they were treated by ambulance crews.

The firefighters were back on base by 1.24am.

Later on in the morning, firefighters were called to a greenhouse on fire near St Neots.

The crews were sent to Orchard Close at 11.34am and arrived on scene 12 minutes later.

The fire was under control by 11.49am.

Early afternoon crews were sent to a flat in Huntingdon after a cooker caught alight.

Fire crews were sent to the property in Sutton Gate at 3.26pm and had the fire under control by 4pm.

Firefighters were back at base at 4.32pm.

The busy day ended in Kimbolton after arsonists targeted a caravan at 9.30pm.

Firefighters were sent to the B645 near the Horseshoe layby.

The fire was under control by 9.45pm and the crews, from St Neots and Kimbolton, were back at base at 10.36pm.

The cause of fire was deliberate.
