BUILDING work on a new enterprise centre at Caxton Road, St Ives, will start in January after Huntingdonshire District Council has handed over the keys of the site to the construction company, Graham Construction, on January 4.
Once complete the site will be home to eight commercial workspaces and six offices, adding to the town's scarce supply of space for emerging businesses.
The scheme will also help to implement the council's environment strategy by improving waste and energy efficiency with the use of renewable energy resources.
Among the environmental features are the use of rainwater for toilet-flushing, a climate control system and the use of natural daylight and ventilation.
