BECOMING “water wise” can save businesses money and lessen their impact on the environment, according to a new national campaign.

As part of National Water Saving Week, which runs from June 12 to 18, Resource Efficiency East is offering small businesses in Huntingdonshire a free Water Efficiency Review to identify measures to help reduce water use and save money as a result.

The review involves a site visit summarised in a concise report, and six months of support to help businesses implement the recommendations.

The average water consumption per person per day is about 150 litres, with industry and commerce in the UK consuming 1,300 million cubic metres of water every year.

Resource Efficiency East director Antony Gough said: “National Water Saving Week is an ideal time for businesses that use a lot of water to reassess their usage.
